The Ohio Department of Insurance (ODI) is performing important system upgrades beginning at 8:00 PM on Saturday, March 19, 2016. The website will not be available during this period. Please follow the instructions provided below for External Review case activities that need to be performed during the system outage:
Health Plan Issuer Initiation of a New External Review Case:
- Expedited 72-Hour IRO Review (does not apply to Contractual or post-service IRO review): Call ODI at 614-644-2644 and follow the instructions in the after-hours voicemail message to initiate an expedited IRO review offline.
Important! -- Be sure to call ODI (614-644-2644) on Monday, February 22, 2016, to provide information and get further instructions for any Expedited Review case initiated offline during the outage.
- Standard 30-Day IRO or Contractual Review (applies to all post-service review cases): Standard reviews can be held until
Monday, December, 2015, when the External Review web applications are back online.
Health Plan Issuer and IRO External Review Case Outcome Reporting:
Outcome reporting should be postponed until Monday, February 22, 2016, when the External Review web applications are back online.
Note: Expedited Review case outcome required notifications to the health plan issuer and enrollee/authorized person(s) should be sent as usual and not delayed pending outcome reporting to ODI.
